Power to Appreciate…
smellrose

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the new year, I hope you all had a safe and happy christmas. The new year is always filled with new resolutions and new promises, which often remain unfulfilled. So lets instead start simply with the concept of newness – one day at a time…

What does newness mean? What does newness look and feel like? What opportunities can newness bring?…

For me newness simply starts with letting go of the old in order to make way for the new. However, it’s very difficult to be open to anything new if our ‘cup’ is still filled full with the old. We must be willing to empty it (let it go and leave it behind) if we are to fill ourselves up with anything new and abundantly glorious.

We have two amazing tools to help us with this… Firstly, we are starting the 1st day of the new year with a new moon – an auspicious time to start fresh. Secondly, the Power I drew for us to practice couldn’t be more perfectly timed. Once again a huge smile covered my face when I pulled out this Power – feeling blessed and so fortunate for it’s timing.

Our 27th Power – Power to Appreciate…

To live a life that’s filled with love,
a life that’s overflowing and bright…
I must Appreciate every little thing,
without resistance or putting up a fight.
Every living being – great and small,
each situation I may need courage to face.
The drama of life and each single part of it,
accepting and flowing with absolute grace.

** The Power to be Appreciate is the ability to find beauty in everything – no matter how ‘ugly’ the situation. It means to hold in high regard, life and all it represents. Appreciating means never to take anything for granted but to hold dear and value all that comes to you, whether great or small.

** I am the Prize… I am the One that everyone cherishes and adores. I am the treasure – the One who everyone searches for and seeks to be like. I sustain myself through self nourishment and uphold myself through self value.

** Supporting Virtues: Love, Respect, Nurturing, Magical, Humility, Carefree

Questions to churn:
1. Do I take my life and those around me for granted?
2. Do I appreciate lessons in life or do I scoff at them?
3. Do I stop to smell the roses or do I allow the ‘drama’ in life to stop me from noticing it’s beautiful fragrance?

Tips:
– Focus on your own thoughts, words and actions – not those of others, or else you will not appreciate but resent.

– Life is short – appreciating allows us to enjoy rather than to resist.

– Understanding the difference between appreciation and gratefulness can help you through many challenges in life…

We left Leura this morning. Though sad to say goodbye, we appreciated our time there and the opportunity to recharge and reconnect with some amazing souls. We also very much appreciated everyone’s hospitality and that they made it feel like ‘home’ for us.

After a hot and slow drive inland to West Wyalong we very grateful to arrive, set up and have a well earned rest. It is currently 38 degrees, so I am very grateful for our airconditioning in our caravan, the shade of the sparse trees. I am also very grateful for reception so I can send you this email, as I am unsure what reception will be like over the next part of our journey…….

Entering 2014, pay attention and see if you can recognize what you are grateful for and what you appreciate… Often we are so busy resisting, we miss the beauty that may be right in front of our face…

Have a happy week, lots of Love Annemarie
