Hi everyone,
While the weather was clearing over the last few days – turning heavy rain into awesome, warm and sunny days – I couldn’t help but smile again when I drew the next power. I smiled because the Power I drew is one (among others) that I’ve been working with since my return from Melbourne. Needing once again to deal with constant change (even sudden temperature changes can cause obstacles for chronic pain), I found myself digging into my ‘toolbag’ to use this particular power and realised it could definitely do with some strengthening… I guess I wasn’t too surprised when it was drawn this morning 🙂
Our 17th Power is the 9th Jewel – Power to Adjust – page 73….
‘With Power I adjust my sails in the wind,
to help me reach my destination.
Knowing that nothing physical stays the same,
prevents me from procrastination.
To accommodate others without hesitation,
is a life filled with illumination.’
** The ability to mould myself around any person or situation without the slightest compromise of my own value. A Master is never submissive but happily bows down
to give a helping hand to anyone in need – to uplift them.
** I am the ocean… I absorb any rubbish in my ocean bed or discard it with my powerful waves.
** Supporting Virtues: Tolerance, Courage, Appreciation, Compassion, Generosity, Flexibility
Tips:
1. Adjusting (or moulding) yourself around situations takes a discerning eye. Power to Discern can help you to ‘accommodate’ as opposed to becoming a pushover.
2. This power keeps you real! Imagine running across rocks – constantly adjusting your footing – it’s about paying attention, being flexible and learning good judgement.
3. The Power to Adjust isn’t just about accommodating others, it’s also to accommodate your own strengths and weaknesses – adjusting as necessary, rather than resist.
Questions to churn:
1. How do I adjust myself without compromising my own value?
2. Where in my life could I be more accommodating and adjust myself?
3. How can this Power benefit me and others?
Power to Adjust helps us to become more flexible in life and to step out of our comfort zone – to step out of our self imposed boundaries. Often our limited way of thinking stops us from using this wonderful Power, and if we don’t broaden our mind (remaining narrow-minded) this Power can proof difficult, which is all the more reason to practice it. When we allow ourselves to explore and play with this Power, we realise the amazing healing possibilities for many situations.
Even as seasoned travelers, we still have to practice this Power because this Power is about constant change, and therefore changing the way we think and changing the way we behave – to Adjust and to Accommodate – no matter where we are. Sometimes ‘travelers’ can fall under the false illusion that they are open to change because they move around so much. Yes it definitely teaches you to keep a flexible attitude, but if I don’t change my view of life – changing ‘the glass from half empty to half full’ – then no matter how beautiful a paradise I come across – I will still ‘see’ a half empty glass! This is just a good reminder to never judge another, but instead to adjust and mould ourselves around different situations and different people without the slightest compromise of our own value. If I keep changing scenery – homes, jobs, relationships, clothes, diets, exercise, etc – without changing my attitude then nothing really changes. It’s a bit like moving furniture – it feels ok for a while – but then I become unhappy again because I never really changed anything, I just moved a few things around. Adjusting means to constantly be happy and content while making others content – no matter who or what you may be facing… Not an easy task but I believe it’s possible, so where there is a possibility I must at least try, then I get the benefit of seeing magic happen 🙂
Enjoy playing with this Power, lots of love Annemarie xx
