Power of Patience…

Power Patience

Hi everyone,

I’m just loving this part of picking a Power at random. With all the fast changes and confusion in the world, it pays to stay on our toes – not to become paranoid – but to be prepared and eveready, which is only possible when I consistently cultivate my powers – when I keep sharpening my tools. Successful Chefs know the value of having their tools prepared and at the ready to conquer even the toughest of situations. They understand that they would not be in control of the evening, if they waited till they needed the tools before sharpening them – not only will it affect them, it will affect everyone down the line.  A Chef will have practiced and perfected certain dishes well before the ‘opening night’ and all preparations will be well under way – well before the actual event. They can not afford to wait and ‘see what happen’s, if they want a smooth evening, with no stress.

So after Tolerance our 11th Power is another sparkling jewel 🙂

Our 11th Power is the 15th Jewel – Power of Patience – page 121….

‘To be the Master of Patience
is to understand the seasons.
Recognizing that everything happens
in a time, and for a reason,
enables an easy flow with life and
stops me from committing self treason’

** The Power of Patience is the ability to let ‘dramas’ unfold without force or manipulation.  Not to control external events, nor let them control me – to dictate how I behave. Knowing and accepting that people and situations will enter and exit in their own time, is to understand that there’s a reason and a season for everything.

** I am the gardner… I understand, accept and happily work with natures own perfect clock – I do not resist but I cooperate.

** Supporting Virtues: Calm, Optimistic, Creative, Appreciative, Sweet, Uncomplicated

Tips:
1.  Patience does not mean to constantly wait around for others and being at their mercy.
2. Patience does not mean to wait for others to change, before I change.
3. Patience does not mean to wait for the ‘right time, right place, right person, right light, right environment, right….. before I step up and take my power – it will never happen.

Questions to churn:
1. Do I regularly wait around for others, or do I regularly make others wait around for me?
(subtle forms of conforming and controlling)
2. When planting ‘tomato seeds’, do I wait patiently – watering, nourishing, feeding – or do I dig them up to see how they are doing?
3. Do I get frustrated, resentful and impatient?  Do I sabotage myself?

The Power of Patience is such a beautiful power but can be rather difficult to apply, living in a world of instant gratification. The heartache that often follows impatience can be intense and painful – having expectations and not wanting to relinquish control – causes grief for all involved in a particular situation. So I have a choice – do I sit back like the cat looking for an opportunity to sneak in the door – enjoying the scenery while waiting patiently – knowing at least one opportunity will present itself to sneak in? Or do I force situations, putting pressure on myself and everyone else? Patience is so powerful (not a weakness like many believe) because you need to know (discern) when to sit back and wait (content) and when to ‘pounce’ on an opportunity (courage). It means to be ready (packing up) while recognizing that everything has it’s own special timing (detachment).

May you all create another wonderful week – Lots of love Annemarie xx
