You can never truly know what another is thinking or where they are coming from. To be generous with our heart rather than our pocket, is Compassion.

Compassion is to cooperate with anyone in need of support – without taking away their right or enforcing my right – while acting as loving guardian of my own safety and wellbeing. Yet compassion helps me to put aside ‘my stuff’ for a while so others may benefit. This is not to be mistaken with ‘co-suffering’, instead I keep a cool head and a calm, gentle disposition. It means I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty to help another.
