Hi everyone,
Flow

As we enter the season of autumn in Australia on the 1st day of March, I feel once again fortunate to be alive. Even with all the aches, pains and exhaustion I’m experiencing, I still do love and am always grateful for any opportunity to change myself 🙂

Our next Power is another one of my favorites – such a beautiful strength and for me, perfectly timed (though not always easy to attain but well-worth strengthening). We are all being tested in many different ways and we will continue to be challenged in the school of life – it is what it is. Remember, when we have put out into the universe that we want to change – whether on a subtle level or as a direct statement – we will get constant reminders and challenges to check our own progress, until we pass. Not unlike an examination at any school – learn and move up or repeat the same level!

Some challenges are overwhelming, some are simply a challenge to overcome and some even drive us to aim higher. Having this Power in your tool-belt of life, at the ready, will save you much anguish – leaving you open to enjoy life rather than resist it. There’s no turning back so we may as well keep moving upward and onward and enjoy the scenery along the way, because no matter how difficult the ‘obstacles’ resistance truly is futile and acceptance brings peace 🙂

Our 29th Power – Power to Accept…

Life is beautifully unpredictable,
surrender and enjoy the ride.
Facing change on a daily basis,
brushing irrational fear aside.
Knowing that nothing lasts forever –
the Law of Change helps us grow.
Resistance is therefore futile,
be the river and go with the flow.
Invite the light that sets us free,
as we dry the tears we’ve wept.
Life has a way of becoming easy –
when we use our Power to Accept.

** The Power to Accept is the ability to recognize and acknowledge situations (often uncomfortable ones) without trying to control it, change it or resist it. It means that whether I like a situation or not, I am at peace with it – allowing me to let go and keep moving.

** I am the River… I flow over pebbles – bending and sweeping around many unforeseen corners. Yet I continue to flow regardless of the obstacles – whether I flow over it or around it or create a different path, I continue to flow. I do not resist or retreat, instead I accept the journey at hand.

** Supporting Virtues: Tolerance, Courage, Flexibility, Surrender, Patience, Discipline

Questions to churn:
1. Have I accepted my current situation?
2. How often do I resist change?
3. Why do I find difficulty in going with the flow?

Tips:
1. Denial keeps us stuck. We may portray to others that we are ok, but check what’s happening internally.

2. You will know when you have not truly accepted a situation because of the anguish you will experience.

3. Situations will come in front of us again and again and again – in different forms and faces – until we have truly accepted and let go.

I thought I would finish with the ‘serenity prayer’ adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous –

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.”

Lots of Love Annemarie
